In the summer 2003, the refectory underwent a major renovation. The carpeting was removed and replaced with a wooden floor. The alabaster ceiling lamps were lowered to provide additional light. In addition, the room was painted two shades of white, and the beams and wood painted a deep brown to add texture and contrast to the room. In addition, new furniture was added.

As one moves into the community refectory there is one significant painting behind the Prior's table: This picture, which hangs in the front of the refectory is the work of Sr. Mary of the Compassion painted in the 1950's. It hung in the St. Joseph's Priory, Somerset, OH, until 1975 when this community acquired it.

The most recent artwork added to the house is this statue of St. Joseph holding a pair of turtledoves (Luke 2:24). Acquired on a recent pilgrimage to the Marian apparition in Lourdes, France, it is the only statue of St. Joseph -- the patron saint of the Province -- in the house.
