Fr. Bill Garrott, O.P.

William Garrott was born November 13, 1963, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is the youngest of eight children and has 24 nieces and nephews. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and working several years in the field of technology transfer, he entered the Order of Preachers in August of 1988. After six years of spiritual and academic formation, he was ordained to the priesthood in May of 1994. Father Bill Garrott, O.P. spent four years serving as an associate pastor in Ohio where he gained experience with RCIA, adult education, Confirmation retreats, Bible studies, training and leading altar servers, lectors, and Pro-Life Marches.

Father Garrott then obtained a Masters in Theology from the University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (known as the Angelicum) in Rome. Currently Father Garrott serves as the Director of Vocations for the Province of Saint Joseph.

The student brothers in Washington invite you to join them in offering a Rosary Novena for Vocations.  Beginning today, December 17, please offer your daily Rosary and other spiritual exercises for the men and women God is calling to the Order of Preachers.

The Lord has been very good to the Province of St. Joseph in recent years.  We owe him our gratitude and continued trust.

After delivering his keynote address at the academic convocation during the grand dedication of the new Academic Center and Theological Library on Saturday, April 18, Fr. Augustine DiNoia, O.P., Undersecretary for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) was interviewed on both the nature of his position in the Curia and the role of the Dominican House of Studies at this stage of the Order’s history.  Fr. John Farren, O.P., Director of the Dominican Foundation and Vicar Provincial for Advancement for the Province of St. Joseph, leads the 10-minute interview.
