Georges Rouault's "Jesus Reviled," from his unpublished Miserere series.

Fr. Bruno Mary Shah, O.P. preached the Mass for Monday of Holy Week at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington.  Below is the full text of his homily.

When a man turns to the Lord, the veil of darkness is removed (2 Cor 3.16). And it is the liturgy of these holy days, the action of the Church, of Christ's body, that turns us toward the Lord. We shall gaze on the glory of the Lord, being transformed…  » More

Moses and the Burning Bush

On Wednesday, March 24, Rev. Br. Hyacinth Marie Cordell, O.P. preached a homily on the fire of God, which he noted doesn't burn but rather perfects man.  Here is the full text of his reflection:

Tenebrae

On Wednesday, March 31, at 7:30 PM, come to the Dominican House of Studies and join the Friars in this traditional monastic Holy Week liturgy commemorating the death and burial of the Light of lights.  Composed of music, word, and light, the liturgy is punctuated by the haunting melodies of the Lamentations of Jeremiah as sung by Jesus Christ weeping over the lost children of Jerusalem.
