Fr. Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P.

Ordained in 2002 for the Diocese of Lafayette (Louisiana), Fr. Guilbeau entered the Dominican novitiate in 2005 and professed his simple vows in 2006. Before joining the Order, Fr. Guilbeau obtained his Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees from St. John's Seminary in Boston, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (Patristic Theology) from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. In the fall of 2010, having completed three years of parochial ministry at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City, Fr. Guilbeau began doctoral studies in fundamental moral theology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Domedia Productions of Newport, R.I., has released a new documentary by Fr. God and Man in "Dialogue"

In her recently republished biography of St. Catherine of Siena (Ignatius Press, 2009), Sigrid Undset offers various insights into the medieval Doctor's celebrated Dialogue.  In the section of her commentary quoted here, Undset focuses specifically on St. Catherine's famous doctrine on the relation of God and man.  Perhaps these words can inform or deeper your Lenten prayer.

U.S. Bishops Reiterate Opposition to Health Reform Bill

On Monday, Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago and President of the USCCB, issued a statement clarifying the U.S. Bishops' concerns regarding the health reform legislation now moving through Congress. Earlier today, Pope Benedict XVI addressed the participants of an international clergy conference now meeting in Rome.  Organized by the Congregation for Clergy as a special event of the current Jubilee Year for Priests, the conference has taken for its title the motto of the jubilee: "Fidelty of Christ, Fidelty of the Priest."  Below is the full text of the Pope's address.

On Saturday, a beloved priest of the Province completed his earthly pilgrimage and went home quietly to the Lord.  At the age of 92, Fr. Come and See Weekend

A group of young women recently attended a "Come and See" weekend at Our Lady of Grace Monastery in North Guilford, CT.  Leading them in prayer and reflection over the course of the weekend program was Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P., who teaches theology at Providence College.  Please pray for the women who attended this retreat, that the Lord may make clear to them his will for their lives.
