Developing a Culture of Life
A just law recognizes the rights of both these persons.

Earlier this month, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz delivered the Saint Albert the Great Lecture at the Church of Saint Louis Bertrand in Louisville, KY.  His topic was: "The United States Bishops' Pro-Life Pastoral Plan."

Over the course of his lecture, Archbishop Kurtz explored man's relationship with God, the responsibilities of communities, and the transformation of culture. The archbishop stressed the point that civil laws shape behavior and thus create either a culture of life through just laws or a culture of death through unjust laws.  In his concluding remarks, Archbishop Kurtz emphasized that we all have different roles to play in the shaping of culture, but collectively we are all called to be teachers of the faith, public advocates, workers of mercy, and prayer warriors.
