New website for Providence College
Emphasizes Catholic and Dominican Identity

Providence College recently unveiled a new website that emphasizes the school's Catholic and Dominican identity in addition to highlighting academics, campus life, and athletics. Providence College was founded in 1917 by the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph in conjunction with the Diocese of Providence.

Dvořák's 170th Birthday
Dominican Archbishop Celebrates Mass in Honor of Dvořák and St. John Neumann

On September 25, 2011, Archbishop Dominik Duka, O.P., celebrated Mass in the Crypt Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine in honor of Dvořák’s 170th Birthday and the 200th anniversary of the birth of John Nepomucene Neumann, Archbishop of Philadelphia. For the Ordinary of the Mass, the Basilica Choir sang Dvořák’s Mass in D Major, “Lužanská."
Archbishop Duka was ordained a priest in 1970. He was appointed Bishop of Hradec Králové in 1998 by Bl. John Paul II, and was appointed Archbishop of Prague by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

The Dominican friars of the Province of Saint Joseph and the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, will be holding a Vigil for Vocations on Thursday October 6th at 7:00pm in Louisville.
There will be a Holy Hour with compline and afterwards time to meet the friars and the sisters. Refreshments will be served, see the address below:

New Group for Young Adults in the Washington, DC area

The DC Frassati Fellowship follows in the footsteps of the lay Dominican Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, seeking to bring the whole person to Christ through adoration, study, community, charitable activity, and love of the outdoors.
