Fr. Bruno M. Shah, O.P.

Fr. Shah was clothed in the Dominican habit in 2003 and ordained to the priesthood in 2009. His earlier studies were in religion, philosophy, and education. He is an adult convert. Before entering the Order, he worked for a high school run by the (French) Christian Brothers on the Lower East-Side, NY, NY; he taught in the Literature and Religion departments for three years. It was during this time that he discerned his call to an active, priestly ministry, focused on doctrinal preaching, and necessarily flowing from contemplative study and communal religious observance.

This series of informal interviews presents Dominican Friars reflecting on distinctive or characteristic elements of our life.

Fr. Terence Keegan, O.P. discusses Dominican aspects of teaching. He notes that the Order exists to preach the truth, which is one. Hence, all Dominican teachers serve the Holy Preaching in one form or another, such as the university or seminary classroom, and the popular or academic journal.

Fr. Keegan is a Professor of Theology at Providence College (RI), and is also Regent of Studies for the St. Joseph Province. Among his publications is the New Collegeville Bible Commentary on First and Second Timothy, Titus, and Philemon (Liturgical Press, 2006).
