Fr. Gabriel Gillen, O.P.

Fr. Kevin Gabriel Gillen, O.P., was ordained to the priesthood in 2000, Fr. Gillen joined the Order of Preachers in 2005 after earning degrees from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, commonly known as the Angelicum, in Rome. Prior to answering the call to priesthood he worked several years as a stock broker on Wall Street. Fr. Gillen is currently assigned to Saint Joseph in Greenwich Village, New York City, where he serves to promote evangelization through media for the Province and hosts the weekly program “Word to Life” on The Catholic Channel, Sirius 159 and XM 117.

In this video, Fr. Walter Wagner, O.P., continues the "Threefold Body of Christ" lecture series, a joint preaching project of our Priories of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City and St. Mary in New Haven, CT.  Also participating in this series are Fr. Bruno M. Shah, O.P., and Fr. Jonah Pollock, O.P.  The lectures are free and open to the public on the first Monday (NY) and second Monday (CT) of each month at 7:00 pm. In this lecture, Fr. Wagner approached the bodily dimension of our Christian faith from these perspectives:

(a) The Hebrew/Jewish tradition
(b) The Platonic insight and the Hellenic situatiion
(c) Jesus at the confluence of Judaic and Hellenic thought and Gnosticism
(d) The Alexandrian and Antiochene responses
(e) Arianism, Nestorianism, and Monophysitism; Augustine
