Holy Hour Honors Year of St. Paul

Join us for a Eucharistic Holy Hour in honor of the Year of St. Paul, March 16 from 7.30PM to 8.30PM at the Dominican House of Studies (DHS) in Washington, D.C. The evening will focus on the theme of conversion and feature a reading from St. Paul with preaching by one of the student brothers in formation at the DHS. Confessions are to follow.

The Dominican House of Studies is home to the Dominican Priory of the Immaculate Conception, the monastery where some number of friars make their home and the Pontifical Faculty, where the friars, other religious, and lay people alike, receive their theological education. Next month, on April 18 and 19, solemn liturgies and talks by distinguished friars, Church dignitaries and scholars will mark the formal dedication of the new Academic Center and Theological Library at the DHS.

Throughout the year, the public is invited to various special observances and occasions at the DHS. These are unique opportunities to pray with and gain insight into the life of the friars. These include the ever more popular annual Vigil of All Saints, which has received coverage on PBS’ “Religion and Ethics Newsweekly” and is emulated in parishes throughout the Northeast; and the annual symposium marking the feast day of St. Albert the Great on Nov. 15, which last year featured speakers addressing the theme of “Vatican II: Renewal within Tradition.”

The Dominican House of Studies is located at 487 Michigan Ave., N.E., Washington, D.C. 20017—across the street from Catholic University.
