The publication of a new book on Flannery O'Connor, the late Catholic novelist, has prompted "Religion & Ethics Weekly," a weekend news program on PBS, to devote an entire segment to the southern writer, whose faith and imagination were shaped in large part by the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas. The segment will air this weekend, November 22 at 10am. (Re-run available on Monday, November 23 at 7:30am and again at 1:30pm.) and it will feature Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P., a professor of theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., who credits O'Connor's writing with his conversion to Catholicism. The full-length version of the interview with Fr. White will be posted on the show's website.
