Fr. Gabriel Gillen, O.P.
Fr. Kevin Gabriel Gillen, O.P., was ordained to the priesthood in 2000, Fr. Gillen joined the Order of Preachers in 2005 after earning degrees from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, commonly known as the Angelicum, in Rome. Prior to answering the call to priesthood he worked several years as a stock broker on Wall Street. Fr. Gillen is currently assigned to Saint Joseph in Greenwich Village, New York City, where he serves to promote evangelization through media for the Province and hosts the weekly program “Word to Life” on The Catholic Channel, Sirius 159 and XM 117.

A New Book by Cardinal George

In the video above, Francis Cardinal George speaks about his new book, The Difference God Makes: A Catholic Vision of Faith, Communion, and Culture.
His book has received strong recommendations from both Helen Alvaré, who gave the annual Saint Albert's Day Lecture at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City, and Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, who on the same day delivered the St. Albert the Great Lecture at Saint Louis Bertrand Church in Louisville, KY. It seems that Saint Albert may be trying to tell us something!
Drawing from Scripture, Tradition, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the lives of other saints, Cardinal George demonstrates in his book how one can recognize the work of the generous, self-giving God against the backdrop of the radicial individualism and moral relativism that has permeated the culture. The Cardinal writes, "A culture is transformed only by those who love it, just as individuals are converted only by evangelizers who love them."
