Fr. Gabriel Gillen, O.P.

Fr. Kevin Gabriel Gillen, O.P., was ordained to the priesthood in 2000, Fr. Gillen joined the Order of Preachers in 2005 after earning degrees from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, commonly known as the Angelicum, in Rome. Prior to answering the call to priesthood he worked several years as a stock broker on Wall Street. Fr. Gillen is currently assigned to Saint Joseph in Greenwich Village, New York City, where he serves to promote evangelization through media for the Province and hosts the weekly program “Word to Life” on The Catholic Channel, Sirius 159 and XM 117.

“The New Atheism: Its Virtues and Its Vices”

The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer will hold its annual St. Thomas Day Lecture on Thursday, January 28, 2010.  The guest speaker will be Fr. Brian Davies, O.P., a member of the English Province and a Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University.  The title of his talk will be: "The New Atheism: Its Virtues and Its Vices."

The lecture, which begins at 7:00 p.m., is free and open to the public. The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer is located on Lexington Avenue at East 66th Street in New York City.  A light reception in the priory will follow the lecture.
