Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P.

Thomas Joseph White, O.P., entered the Order of Preachers in 2003. His research and teaching have focused particularly on topics related to Thomistic metaphysics and Christology as well as Roman Catholic-Reformed ecumenical dialogue. He is the author of Wisdom in the Face of Modernity: A Study in Modern Thomistic Natural Theology (Sapientia Press, forthcoming) and co-editor with James Keating of Divine Impassibility and the Mystery of Human Suffering (Eerdmans Press, forthcoming). He has published articles in several journals, including The Thomist, Nova et Vetera and Pro Ecclesia. Thomas Aquinas & Contemporary Scholarship

The Thomistic Institute of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., and the Catholic and Dominican Institute of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY jointly present an inaugural workshop on Thomas Aquinas & Contemporary Philosophy.

This workshop will bring together scholars and students interested in philosophy, especially the work of Thomas Aquinas. It will also consider the values and goals of philosophy in the Catholic tradition, and the engagement of these ideas within the context of the contemporary academy.

The Conference will be June 23-26, 2011 at Mount Saint Mary College, 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.

The Keynote Speaker will be Fr. Charles Morerod, O.P., Rector of the Angelicum University, Rome, and Secretary of the International Theological Commission.
