Word Youth Day Cross Comes to the Angelicum

In anticipation of the 25th World Youth Day celebration in Rome, the official World Youth Day Pilgrim Cross will be hosted March 7-9 at the Angelicum University.  At that time, pilgrims will be able to venerate the cross in the university's adoration chapel.

First given to the youth of the world by Pope John Paul II in 1984, the World Youth Day Cross continues to make a yearly pilgrimage around the world.  When visiting a particular country, the Pilgrim Cross encourages the young in that region to embrace their share in Christ's cross, and to encourage their neighbors to do the same.  Only by venerating the death of Christ, the cross reminds the world's youth, does one discover the depts of God's mercy and love, as well as the joy of the crucified and risen Christ.
