Fr. Charles Morerod, O.P., Named ITC Secretary General

Earlier today, the Holy Father named Fr. Charles Morerod, O.P., a member of the Swiss Province and Dean of the Philosophy School at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas (Angelicum), as the Secretary General of the International Theological Commission.
The ITC is a branch of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and it functions as a type of "think tank" for the Church. It is charged by the Holy Father to study and render its opinion on theological issues of contemporary importance. A listing of the ITC's most recent documents can be found here.
In 2006, Fr. Morerod delivered a lecture at the Dominican House of Studies entitled "A Thomistic Contribution to Ecumenical Dialogue." Click above for the audio of his talk.
