Father Joe is a native of Hartford, Connecticut. After graduating from Providence College with a degree in accounting, he joined the Order of Friars Preachers. He was ordained in 1963 and has since acquired experience as a hospital chaplain, assistant novice master, vocation director, student master, pastor, and for eight years a member of the retreat staff at Saint Stephen Priory in Dover, Massachusetts. Father earned a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC, and for many years has been involved with Teams of Our Lady, a program for married couples. He is the author of a book on the Great Commandment entitled Befriending: A Self-Guided Retreat for Busy People (Paulist Press). Now in its third printing, the book has also been published in the Philippines and in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Father Joe offers three different programs for lay people, religious and priests. For the laity, he offers a parish mission based on the Great Commandment using material from his book Befriending: A Self-Guided Retreat for Busy People. He also offers day or weekend programs for women, men, married couples or Dominican laity, as well as parish missions with a Dominican sister through the Parable Conference. For religious, Father Joe offers full retreats concentrating on the charism and life of the community. He uses material from the synod on religious life and the papal statement Vita Consecrata. Religious can also have full retreats on the Great Commandment as noted above. He has already given retreats on priestly life and ministry to the priests of Hartford, Providence, and Juneau.
Father Joe is available throughout the year.
The fee is negotiable according to your means and budget.
